Fotopic.net is a photo sharing website and web services suite.

History

edit

On 2 August 1999, the website named photos.jml.net began as a private collection of photographs of a British couple, Joel and Nicky Rowbottom.

By February 2001, the picture engine was transferred to fotopic.net and internet users could access the database and create a picture account.

In May 2008, Fotopic.net was acquired by Snappy Designs Ltd which in turn is owned by ANY-Web Group.[1]

Services

edit

Fotopic.net offers a free account or premium services that add various features. The free account consists of disk space (250 megabytes) for photos that can be uploaded through the web browser, ftp or email. Traffic for the free account is limited. Account holders can create albums that are viewable or downloadable by unregistered users.
