Taking Heads (Band)

edit

Talking heads was one of the most critically acclaimed bands of the 80's. The band came from an art background as Guitarist/vocalist David Byrne, drummer Chris Frantz, and bassist Tina Weymouth were students together at the Rhode Island School of Design. The band's big break came when they won a spot opening for the Ramones at a New York punk club in 1975. In 1976 they added keyboardist Jerry Harrison and 1977 the band signed to Sire Records and released their first album, Talking Heads: 77. They managed to earn several pop hits throughout their career. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame in 2001. [1] [2]
