Gerald (Jerry) Allison
Gerald (Jerry) Lou Allison (October 27, 1932 - April 22, 2011) was an American architect, designer, and artist. He was a pioneer in the emerging field of hospitality design since 1955. He was named a Fellow of the American Institute of Architecture in 19xx, the youngest ever to receive the award. Among his accolades are the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, a lifetime achievement award from Hocking College, the Ray Bradbury Creativity Award, and the Hospitality Design Platinum Circle Award. Some of his notable projects include the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas, the Palace of the Lost City in Sun City, South Africa, the Hotel Bora Bora, French Polynesia and Disneyland's Grand Floridian Resort.
Early Years and Schooling
Allison was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, attending Garfield High School, where he met a young Quincy Jones. They would remain lifelong friends.
