I am a PhD candidate at the University of Washington's Human Centered Design and Engineering program, where I am focusing on the design, development, and analysis of large scale online systems. My undergraduate degree was in English with a focus on creative writing, a hobby I still pursue both in short stories and the occasional colorful metaphor I can slip into documents of a typically more technical nature. In the off hours, I appreciate long bike rides, finding new podcasts, reading everything from fiction to non to journal articles of every variety.

In Wikipedia, I'm hoping to learn something new every day, to contribute something of value, and to contribute to a thriving community of passionate editors and readers. In particular, I have a keen interest in the intersection of the technical and the creative, the potential for free software to expand how we interact with technology, and an abiding love of literature that I hope to carry with me wherever I go.
