SupplyHouse.com is an online retailer and wholesaler of plumbing, heating, and HVAC equipment and accessories.[1] The company is headquartered in Melville, New York.[2]
History
editJosh Meyerowitz founded PlumbingGoods.com in New York City in 2004. The company went through a series of name changes over the next decade, eventually adopting SupplyHouse.com as its permanent name in 2014. During that time, the company’s e-commerce platform had grown into a prominent online sales hub for the plumbing trades.[3][4]
SupplyHouse.com opened a distribution center in Columbus, Ohio in 2015. In anticipation of the center’s job creation prospects, Columbus City Council voted on a tax incentive to provide support for SupplyHouse’s growth in the region.[5]
In 2017, SupplyHouse.com began same-day delivery services in selected regions, which has been noted for its parallels with online retail leader Amazon which also announced regional same-day delivery services recently.[6]
Leadership
editJosh Meyerowitz and Fernando Cunha were finalists for the 2016 EY New York Entrepreneur of the Year. Meyerowitz speculated that the recognition was in part due to the company’s inclusion on the New York’s 2016 Best Companies to Work for list.[7][8]
Employees of SupplyHouse.com participate in annual volunteer outings to Madonna Heights, a charity that assists women in need.[9] The company also led an awareness campaign about the dangers of texting while driving called “We Can Wait.”[10]
