By definition, a soul is a cluster of mana capable of interacting with other clusters or it's surroundings.
Fibers are the most common form and most primitive structure of mana there is, they are chains of varying length composed of mana particles. Lone fibers exhibit no special properties other than having the ability to group together to make more complex structures, these structures, called souls, range from strings to nets to knots.
Souls are categorized by their structure, their function and their properties.
Types of Souls
editStrings
editStrings are linear formations of fibers which can transport, transmit or transcribe information depending on their specific structure.
Strings made of a single chain of fibers with few branches usually transport information.
Strings made of multiple chains are more solid and can be used to transmit information.
Complex strings of interweaving fibers are capable of basic processing and can transcribe information
Nets
editNets are membrane-like structures made of fibers and strings, their flat architecture allow them to compress, expand and change shapes. Depending on the shape they take, they can perform different tasks, like storing or channelling mana.
Knots
editKnots are extremely complex structures made of fibers, strings and nets woven together. Their main function is to receive and process information and instructions.
Psyches
editBundles of souls which make a self-contained system are called psyches. Psyches are categorized by the mechanics and properties of the souls that constitute them. The basic properties are vitality, emotion and reason.
Properties
editVitality
editVitality is the property of binding with the elements, it is often achieved by nets with large amounts of fibers protruding from them like fur which bind their ends with the elements. These psyches usually feature closed spaces to store the mana used to keep the link with the elements.
Emotion
editEmotion is the property of prioritizing instructions based on the needs of the psyche and it's situation. These psyches tend to exhibit simple, yet large, knots which do simple processing in a parallel manner of multiple instructions.
Reason
editReason is the property of analyzing information and instructions and returning a result. Psyches with reason display very tight and complex knots which do elaborate processing of instructions.
