Mavya Uppal; author and lecturer who recently published a book called “immortal words” (Science, religion, and love) by Muavia Bashir Uppal, lecturer, and author, Oman Middle East, Glasgow U-K.

writer's profile Poetry brings to this world of cruelty, a fantasy, something so real yet, so hard to grasp on. My name is Mavya Uppal and I have been writing since my wounds started to bleed words, you can say, a lifetime. I am also currently a lecturer for English literature and Business Studies in Oman, originally from Pakistan, studied in Glasgow. There is no specific reason as to why a person should write poetry with such passion and affection. Poetry is a reflection of our feelings and emotions that we bury inside our immense hearts. I think poetry is an art expressed in words, it’s a lifeline. I decided to compile all my poetry in one book to reach out to the souls who are unable to access it on social media. I hope whoever reads my book knows that they are not alone and that everyone has some kind of heartbreak or pain which they have to endure in their lives. And that my writing might not mend a broken heart but in fact, it might heal wounds, spark courage and ignite hope. And that is the most eloquent thing known to human beings.

writer's comments; I’m no poet, nor an artist, i just BLEED WORDS through the unquestionable tragedies and heart triumph moments. Things I’ve witnessed, feelings I’ve taken a hostage, emotions left unsaid and some prayers left unanswered. The demons I fought, the battles that I lost, for instance, “head” against “heart.” The most noxious battle of all.

After all, we are all, torn souls, shooting stars, dispersed in a world with our own micro universe circulating in our heads. So we bleed, then we heal yet we never stop loving mortals with immortal passion!
