Who am I

I am a student, currently studying Computer Games Programming student at Staffordshire University on the Stafford campus.

Experience

I have been programming in C++ for over 5 years as hobby, and as part of my course have been programming Java for about 1 year. When programming in C++ I am a big fan of using the Win32 API along with DirectX. However I am also slowly becoming proficient in using alternative API's such as OpenGL and Allegro. My big interests in programming are obviously along the graphics side, however I am particularly interested in the design and implementation of Graphics Engines to attempt to wrap up messy DirectX code into easy to program objects.

I am of course also a gaming fan. Loving a vast variety of genres from FPS to RPG to God games. I particularly enjoy gaming on the PC a platform which has waned somewhat in recent years, but which I believe will have a come back sometime in the not so distant future, though I also enjoy playing on my XBOX 360, Playstation 2, Wii, DS, PSP and GameBoy Colour.

I have also been slowly teaching myself guitar over the last few years, loving both my acoustic guitar and my electric, though I do this more for personal enjoyment than anything else, and I far from claim any kind of expertise.

Finally come night fall I am a pyromaniac in the making, currently enjoying spinning fire with my Poi though I do want to try and learn to use a staff, and would like to improve my Poi skills further and maybe obtain some fire snakes.
