Station wear often refers to the standard uniform worn by firefighters when they are around the station.

Materials

class B and Station Uniforms has to meat NFPA 1975 in the united states.[1] the standard specifies two levels of performance. the first is a heat resistant uniform that could be either 100% cotton or wool. the second one is a heat and flame-resistant uniform that is normally made of aramid fibers like Nomex.[2]

The uniform firefighters wear varies from department to department but most will fall under 3 classes

Class A

The class A also known as Dress uniforms is used for formal events and funerals. Class A can vary between departments but generally consists of a dress coat, a dress shirt, dress pants and belt, lace up shoes, white gloves and a cap.[3] Some departments will use there class B uniforms and add a dress coat and dress shoes.

The Class B uniform is a standard uniform used by most departments. Although the color can vary between departments they all have the same general look. The uniform consist of heat and flame resistant button down shirt, a pair of heat and flame resistant pants, and a pair of safety toe boots. In some paid departments Class B uniforms are worn during there shift while others will use crew uniforms. in most volunter departments class b is used during public education events or other public events.

Class C

Class C uniforms also know as crew uniform, duty uniform, or station uniform. This uniform is normally a cotton department t shirt, a pair of heat and flame resistant pants, and safety toe boots.
