BIOGRAPHY

Matthew Farage was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on August 19, 1956 and is the adoptive son of James and Barbara Farage. He grew up a staunch Catholic with many relatives priests and nuns. He attended IHM grade school and went on to Catholic Central for two years then graduated from Ottawa Hills High in 1974 to take advantage of a graphic arts program Ottawa had offered along with Kent Skills Center for graphic arts. His father James owned a Standard Oil station for 42 years. He has one brother who was a dentist and is now retired. English politician Nigel Farage is his cousin. Matthew holds Nigel's fathers monogrammed hat (GF) given to his grandfather. He has been married twice with no children. Printing was his only occupation his whole life following a long line of printers in the family on his mother's side. His father's cousin was actor Michael Ansara. Michael would visit every couple years and they even named a son after Matthew, but he passed away in 2001 of a drug overdose.

                                                   ACCOMPLISHMENTS 

In 1986 while using a router and seeing some marbles nearby, Matthew came up with the idea of applying it to a golf putting aid. Like a small board with a groove down the middle. He had the name in mind for 9 years of Putterball, but when applying for the name, golfer Sergio Garcia had picked up the name 6 months prior. The name SIMPLE-SPIN was chosen. He had two letters from golfer Ben Hogan and one from Arnold Palmer who praised his product. They were at the First Tee of Detroit when First Tee was just in it's beginning stages. SIMPLE-SPIN putting Aid went to the 2015 lpga Solheim golf team and helped to capture the victory over Europe 14 1/2 - 13 1/2

Matthew enjoys karaoke and has performed many songs located on different social medias. He also enjoys woodworking, classic cars,gardening and riding mopeds. His uncle was famed outdoors writer Ben East. Who he credits his love of nature to.
