Who I Am

edit

My principal area of expertise relates to electronics (specifically, circuit theory),
although I am not limited to that area. I am an alumnus of the LSU system, and
presently serve as Chief Project Scientist of a public start-up company listed as
W2 Energy, Inc., stock symbol WWEN, currently ramping up its funding for a pilot
plant to manufacture synthetic fuels. I am also a licensed broadcast engineer,
FCC License # P-10-18791 with Ship Radar Endorsement, and hold a GS-304-5
US Government rating for microwave communications electronics.

What I Am Doing

edit

I shall regard my experiences here at WikiPedia as a learning experience only. This
being the case, I make absolutely no claim whatsoever to any superior POV, or other
such position. I am merely "just another editor," as are the others here.

What I Expect

edit

I fully expect that at some point, I may insert article material that others, due
either to their own ignorance or other factors, may slash-edit or remove entirely.
Should this occur, I will see what it takes to satisfy them that the material should
be reinstated. If they cannot be satisfied, I will simply leave the matter alone.
I did not come here to "fight editorial battles."

(I began by noticing that certain topics in engineering, in particular some very
well known circuit theorems, were remarkably absent. I have since noticed that
some topics are defined only in limited or singular terms, while other perfectly
valid secondary definitions are not even represented at all.)

Things You Should Know

edit

I should like to point out to any other editors that a number of important references
are nowhere to be found on the internet. As startling as this may seem, it appears that
not yet all of human knowledge has been encoded for online access. References shall
be provided as possible, but it should be noted that some articles (whether complete
new articles or insertions) may be original in nature, and hence are provided for
informational purposes only (this *is* supposed to be an encyclopedia, right?).

How To Work With Me

edit

Even so, I shall endeavor to work with other editors as necessary. Now---in order to
satisfy *me*, the following procedure is recommended:

1. prepare a markup of any article material you delete, complete with
notes as to your precise issue(s) with the material, point by point

2. make a list of whatever improvements/links/references/etc. you think
should be included with the material

3. indicate clearly whether you will consider this satisfactory for the
material to be reinserted, or whether you think the material should go
under a different heading on its own page, etc.

Post this information on my talk page, and we can "hash it out" from there.

And...

edit

Oh, and flame all you want. Flamers will be ignored. Or even laughed at.

(Yes, I know---teribble grammar---ending with a preposition like that,
not to mention my absolutely atrocious use of a fragment.)

Note: English is not Latin - in English it is actually OK to dangle your prepositions (ref: Strunk and White). Correcting said danglings is exactly the kind of arrant pedantry up with which I will not put! :-)
