tomemitsu (band)

Martin Tomemitsu Roark (born 1985), known as tomemitsu, is a multi-instrumentalist from the San Francisco bay area, who started his career as a bedroom singer/songwriter, and is also known for his guitar and production work for the bands So Many Wizards, Basement Babies, Trabants, and Crown Plaza. Tomemitsu's first single posted to the internet, "in dreams (bedroom version)" was accepted to the blog PORTALS' summer mixtape in 2012.(Reference) Tomemitsu's album "m_o_d_e_s" was released on limited edition cassette and digital audio from record/tape label Chill Mega Chill on April 30, 2013.(reference) m_o_d_e_s limited edition cassette sold out and the release received some critical acclaim and coverage by The Fader. Following the release of m_o_d_e_s, tomemitsu achieved syncs of the songs "in dreams" and "runaway" in the web series High Maintenance.  

Following the critical acclaim of Giannascoli's sixth album DSU[2]—featured as a Best Album of 2014 by Noisey,[3] Consequence of Sound,[4] The Washington Post,[5] Vogue,[6] CMJ,[7] and Time Out[8]—UK label Lucky Number Music stepped in to physically re-issue Alex's earlier releases Trick and Rules. Previously only available via Bandcamp, the albums were professionally mastered and made commercially available for the very first time.[9]

In 2015, Giannascoli signed with Domino Recording Company, performing as part of the label's roster at their South by Southwest showcase that year.[10] In August 2015, Giannascoli announced his first album with the label, Beach Music, released on October 9, 2015.[11]
