Spectrum^TM Construction Software is Spectrum Construction Software is a construction management software program developed by Dexter + Chaney. It consists of 28 modules that handle accounting, jobs, project management, document imaging, human resources, equipment, materials, service, remote connectivity, and a variety of data-sharing tasks.

Founded in Seattle in 1981 by John Chaney and Mark Dexter, the system evolved from DOS to Windows to SQL using Pro-IV. The database engine behind Spectrum is Microsoft SQL Server. (http://www.ctsguides.com/dexterchaney-spectrum.asp)

The latest version of Spectrum, Version 13, was released in fall of 2008. In 2009, Dexter + Chaney launched an equipment tracking system (called Equipment Service System, or ESS) for heavy construction companies that tracks equipment hours, fuel consumption, and maintenance activity.
