Emmanuel Obike Okereke known professionally as Manuel Halo (born 13 September 2003), known professionally as Manuel Halo, is a South African/Nigerian rapper, songwriter and record producer. He was born at the Johannesburg South Hospital to a South African Mother and Nigerian Father.
He spent some of his childhood in Johannesburg South Africa, attending a primary school in Newton Johannesburg. Where his curiosity for music sprouted, was when he picked up an Mp3 player that was laying around in his fathers car. He, along side his brother, moved to Nigeria where he furthered his primary school education at Madonna Primary School (Imo State, Owerri).
He was a top learner, (he participated in the annual school march for the states Governor). Music would continue to show face when he was picked to be in the traditional band at school, he would spend time at church trying to learn to play the drums. He aspired to be in the school band, however that would not come to fruition because he would move back to South Africa (after 4 years) and continued with School at Suidhewels Primary School where curiosity quickly turned into passion, he would participate in rap cyphers at school, going by the names Kid Remix, EZY Poetry and Vinny The Soul at that time. He met other artists who helped broaden his taste in music. "I was so young, so curious. I draw a lot of inspiration from younger me," said Manuel Halo.
He recorded and released his first ever single in 2018, during this time he also had his first performance alongside Young Mike, they won the school Talent show. He began going to local events looking to perform and meet other artists, for the longest time he would go to these shows without approval from his parents. Some attempts to perform at these events where successful, some where failures. These experiences where new and thought him about the struggles of being an up coming artist however he didn't let the pressure stop him, he quickly found himself performing around the province.
He also picked up an interest in music production. During an interview he said, "I didn't personally know any producers at that time, I was only using beats of YouTube. So I had to learn to do it myself." He continues to grow sonically. He is motivated by his love of music and creating. He promises to be a prominent act in the musical world.
