Manoj Kulkarni (manas roomani) is an Indian Writer and Poet! Basically Film Journalist, he has written a lot on world cinema. He is known as Film Historian also!
Manoj Kulkarni born on 20 March, 1964 at Pune in Maharashtra. During his college days in 1983 he started writing on films in local news papers & periodicals. This includes film criticism and informative articles. He also presented few programmes on 'All India Radio', Pune.
After 'B.Com.' (in 1985), he did graduation in 'Communication & Journalism' (B.C.J.) from 'University of Pune' in 1988. Then he did 'Film Appreciation Course' jointly conducted by 'National Film Archive of India' (NFAI) and 'Film & Television Institute of India' (FTII), Pune in 1989.
Then he worked in editorial sections of few news papers for a short span of time! He also looked after one company house magazine which got awards during his time! Same time he was freelancing in film journalsim and contributed to film periodicals also.
Since 1995, he has been attending our 'International Film Festival of India' (IFFI) and others like 'MIFF', 'Third Eye Asian Film Festival', Mumbai International Film Festival' & 'PIFF'! And he reviewed these film festivals in his series of articles.
In 1996, he started writing for television channels and some film based programmes were aired on his scripts.
In 2002, he started his film annual 'Chitrasrushti' and published special issues on the important topics of history of world cinema. These includes special issues on World Talkies, World Colour Cinema, World Musicals, Neo-Realistic Cinema, New Wave Cinema & Actors special. And he won 6 awards!
Now he regularly writes (in English, Hindi & Marathi) on new media i.e. Internet. He has his five Blogs includes (Manoj Kulkarni, Chitrasrushti) four on cinema and one for his poetry. He writes with pen name "Manoj 'manas roomani" on his blog 'Shayarana'!
He has written some scripts for films but not yet filmed. He is a member of 'Screenwriters Association', Mumbai.
