Biography
editCristina Coral is an Italian photographer who lives in Trieste [1]. Daughter of the composer Giampaolo Coral, she has been interested in photography since 2010. In 2012 she starts her artistic production. In 2013 she show her works in a collective exhibition “A Glimpse of Foto Vogue” [2] at Carla Sozzani's Gallery in Milan. In 2014 she won her first award, gold medal, at the PX3 Paris Award [3] with her work “Do Not Disturb”. In 2016 she participated in the Photo Vogue First Festival “in / Fashion” at the Spazio Base in Milan [4]. In the same year she exhibited at the Sony Photography Award Exhibition at Somerset House in London. In 2017 she began to work on her project named Room Stories [5]. It was shown in an exhibition at [[Santa Maria della Scala Museum Complex | Santa Maria della Scala Museum Complex]] in Siena and collected at the Briganti Photo Library. Another of her works is part of the Permanent Collection of Artists at MACS (Museum of Contemporary Artists of Sicily) and in 2019 she collaborated with the Royal Theater of La Monnaie de Munt [6] based on Shakespeare's Richard III curated under the artistic direction and choreography of Helena Ganjalyan. Coral has also won some international awards including: The Uncanny contest [7] by Gregory Crewdson selected by Crewdson himself and Alessia Glaviano photo editor of Vogue Italia. She collaborated with some publishers for who she created the cover art for some books (Einaudi: Amica della mia Giovinezza and family furniture by Alice Munro, The appearance of Abraham B. Yehoshua, Until dawn by Carole Fives). Furthermore, she worked for fashion brands and got published in fashion magazines [8] like Fotobook #12 [9].
