Function - Fix any Lint error
This is a task with a broad scope that covers all types of Lint errors. The bot will be operated by running find and replace on specific Lint error patterns, which includes substituted templates and user signatures. This task has seen a significant expansion since January 2023 with the use of general purpose regexes to replace <font>...</font> tags. A record of all operations performed by the bot from before December 2022 under the scope of this task is kept in the subpages of this page. Since January 2023, individual signatures are no longer being recorded, it is being done only for non-signature Lint fixes.
Initially the BRFA for this task was filed to seek approval to fix obsolete html tag Lint errors by replacing tt tags in the first 10 replacements listed in User:MalnadachBot/Task 12/1-50. Due to the bot's successfully demonstrated ability to perform similar large scale Lint error fixes in the previous tasks, this task was approved as a general Lint error fixing bot. So this bot can fix any pattern of Lint error without needing separate BRFAs for individual patterns.
The validity of this task was challenged in a community Request for comment in February-March 2023, which ended with consensus in support of this bot continuing to fix all types of Lint errors.[1]
