True believer edit

I believe we humans do our best thinking collectively; Wikipedia tests whether we can fulfill that promise through editorial practice. Though a relative newcomer to this community, I hope to make a modest contribution through the creation of new articles in my areas of interest and expertise. I am especially interested in researching and writing articles about queer history, including biographies of notable persons in queer history and organizational histories, and articles about books, films, and television.

Self-educated edit

I am a retired writer who has written for television, magazines, and newspapers. My areas of special interest include history (particularly queer history, culinary history, classical history, the history of sexuality, and agricultural history), philosophy (especially environmental ethics, deep ecology, green anarchism, and anarcho-primitivism), art and culture (especially expressions of sexual and gender non-comformity in literature, film, and television), and politics (especially the political nexus between gender, sexuality, and environmentalism, the politics of resistance to capitalism, and the politics of race, criminal justice, and drug policy). I am a veteran gardener and avid cook.

Disclosure of potential conflict of interest edit

I have just created an entry about American journalist, writer, and producer Peter Koper, who is a longtime acquaintance and quondam professional colleague. Of course, I have sought to be conscientious about maintaining a neutral tone and restricting content to the encyclopedic, but I invite the vigilance of the community in helping me adhere to Wikipedia's guidelines notwithstanding my relationship to the subject.
