It tells the story of Leonardo Lombardi, a successful engineer who, when returning home after a business trip, finds his beloved wife, Raiza, in bed with his best friend. Despite the fact that her greatest desire is to become a pediatrician, Miranda Valladares has no choice but to quit her medicine studies to help support her family. Their economic situation is precarious, so much so that they are about to be evicted from their home. Under these difficult circumstances, Miranda and Leonardo meet. The story of Miranda and Leonardo involves a pure love that enters a disappointed man's heart, continual humiliation a woman must endure to support her family and the boundless ambition of an unfaithful wife. These matters will surround the battle against societal labels the two must face in seeking happiness and fulfillment of their love. Miranda Valladares is a dedicated medical student who has to leave her studies to help support her family. She accepts a job offer to care for Leonardo Lombardi's grandfather and children. Leonardo suffered immense distress upon discovering that his beloved wife was cheating on him. His gentle nature changes after learning of this harsh truth and Leonardo becomes a withdrawn and unsociable man. Miranda moves into the Lombardi household where she will take care of Carlitos and Karina. But her life there won't be easy. She is poorly treated by various family members and constantly finds herself humiliated. Miranda becomes the victim of manipulation and intrigue during which time Leonardo discovers that he is in love with her. It is hard for Miranda to recognize and accept this love that she also feels within her. She is afraid to confront her feelings, and rightfully so, since there many people who are interested in shattering this relationship. But their strength will fight against the barriers placed before them in order to prove that social differences and plotting cannot stand in the way of true love.
Finale
editMiranda and Leonardo get back together. Raiza is embarrassed in public after her clothes gets torned exposing her breast. Raimundo marries Rita and manages the business. Grandpa Savado goes to Italy. Dario and Claudia get married and he goes back to racing.
