Chinese medical manuscripts from the Warring States (ca. 475–221 BCE) to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) are handwritten medical texts that are not part of the received printed tradition. Since they were found in graves, grottoes, and private collections, mostly in the twentieth century, they have been considered as an important source for Chinese medical history because they present information that is not found in the received literature.
