Genesis Village is a retirement community in Toledo, Ohio. The vision of Genesis Village began in the spring of 2007. After consulting with community leaders, it was decided to pursue a project to convert the former Holiday Inn and Conference Center into independent senior housing. It was determined that the former conference center could offer amenities and services that could not be found in any other facility in the area. It was also demonstrated that there is a great need for affordable senior housing in the Toledo area. A project team was put together to oversee this unique competitor in the marketplace. The $5 million rehab construction will be completed for an early 2011 grand opening. Genesis Village [1] is collaborating with the University of Toledo Successful Aging program as well as other entities to better serve residents and area seniors.
Amenities
editThe retirement community has a pool, a whirlpool, a gift shop, internet access, a library, a media center and pastoral services.[2]
