Born in Mandeville, Jamaica and raised in Christiana’s surrounding areas. MC/poet Lynx 196.9 made an impact in early 2016's Philadelphia hip-hop scene with Heavy Eyes, crafty lyrics and thought provoking content framed with a voodoo delivery over a lofi-jazzed out influenced soundscape. Affiliated with hip-hop collective 196.9, Lynx 196.9 began releasing music in early 2000s, kicking off with Subway Theory and followed by Context: Brief Beauty. Mount Analogue, an ambitious 6 track mixtape filled with personal struggles, triumphs and demonstrating Lynx 196.9's continuous growth as an artist. Lynx 196.9 received a steady increase of ears for 555 his critically acclaimed 2019 EP that featured guest appearances by Dirty Winters, Stemple (R.I.P.). This led to a support slots of releases (nice guys, special herbs 2.5 and CBNG with The Cut Beetlez). Lynx 196.9 is unsigned, releasing an EP titled Rap Sux while working on the official full-length debut, S.O.N. G. from Nice Guys. That LP arrived in early 2020 and features Kool Keith aka Dr Octagon with production from Olemac 196.9 . His latest full-length, Furlough, arrived in 2020 and included the single "Minutes," featuring Olemac instrumental. Following the classic 196.9 EP with talented producer Chill Da God.
