Etope village

It is a very big village situated between Eenhana and Oshikango in Ohangwena region, in the northern part of Namibia.

It is one of the most civilized and busy farming area[1] . It is about 150 kilometers from the town while about 30 kilometers from the road (gravel road) since there are no tarred roads. The village[2] is in Oshikango constituency, under the district of oukwanama traditional authority

The villagers[3] are being ruled by the headman who is subsidized by the vice headman, leading under the queen[4] of oukwanyama Meekulu Mwadina-omo Martha Nelumbu. The mode of transportations used in the village are the horse ridding and donkey carts to and from the healthy facility centers, since there are none of them existing in the village. The villagers responsibilities are traditionally divided according to their age and gender categories such as: young males suppose to take care of goats and sheep close to their homesteads, the adult males are to take care of cattle while the girls and mothers are to do all the house work[5].
