RON HAMAD was born abroad in a small mountain village and was subsequently raised in Ohio after moving to the U.S. at the age of 10. Benefiting from the celebration of diversity he experienced spending his formative years in an international, multi-cultural community, his work reflects his capacity to successfully combine these sensibilities with his strong Midwestern roots. Known for possessing a total command of his craft, Hamad points to those early years of beauty and inspiration with instilling in him the kind of dedication that has served him well in his 20-plus year career.


Acclaimed Director Ron Hamad hones his craft as a visual storyteller with a distinctive gift for transcending the ordinary. His inspired casting is one of the widely acknowledged cornerstones of his work. Hamad weaves visually arresting images into the fabric of each performance with combining highly evocative art direction completing the mesmerizing canvas. All aspects of the director's signature style that has enabled him to become one of the most sought after commercial directors working today.

Since 1986, he has been working as a professional commercial director, re-locating to Los Angeles from the Midwest in 1999. Ron has been the recipient of numerous industry Directorial Awards and has directed commercials all over the country as well as internationally.

His reputation as a skilled commercial director and photographer have made him uniquely qualified to shoot both print and television spots for clients such as Wrangler and Mayo Clinic.

Some TV commercial clients include, Home Depot, Adidas, AT&T, Kraft Foods, Cheerios, Nescafe, Wrangler, Motorola, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Allstate Insurance, Mayo Clinic, Foster Care, and Florida Anti-Smoking. Major Network promos include: The Showtime Network, "The Tudors" featuring Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Peter O'Toole, as well as, "The United States of Tara" for executive producer Stephen Spielberg, featuring Toni Colette and John Corbett, "Crash" featuring Dennis Hopper for Starz.

In 2002, Hamad added Fine Art Photography to his resume, with gallery shows in Los Angeles, Tokyo and New York City.

That same year he tapped into his well honed commercial skills and inspired performances landing jobs as feature and cover photography in Los Angeles publications. In 2009 his photography was featured in two books published by Chronicle books, authored by Anna Getty.

Constantly looking to broaden his horizons, Hamad's filmmaking. debut short, "The Wait" reveals his arresting cinematic and story-telling talents.

Ron's work as a photographer grew out of his passion for the moving image. He wanted to capture an essence more ephemeral and at the same time lasting. He found that his director skills translated very well into the art photography genre.
