BIOGRAPHY

Daphne Smith (Lorelaph) is a college student who grew up in the greater Chicago Metro Area and came of age in Champaign, Illinois, the birthplace of Midwest Emo music. Amidst a global pandemic, she joined a sorority which quickly introduced her to others who were involved in the Champaign party scene, notably the Drinking Illini. Daphne was an experienced mistake maker while living in Champaign. By the time she was 19, she was abandoning her studies a few times a month to go to Kams and the Red Lion. She lasted 15 months in her sorority before deciding to explore other means of lasting companionship that were more favorable to her. This was a turning point where Daphne realized she could build more meaningful friendships in niche environments that suited her interests. While a full-time student at the Grainger College of Engineering, Daphne participated in the Illinois Space Society, Climbing Club, and Boxing Club, all with varying degrees of success. In 2024, she relocated to Iowa State University, where she will apply her wisdom to her studies to the fullest and finally complete her college education.

MY ADMITTED BIASES

I have contributed some drawings in Siemens NX and AutoCAD, including a 3-D rendering of the Orion (Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle). I am proficient in Python. I have a small programming background in Java, Kotlin, and C++. I have interests in Aerospace Engineering, grunge music, and sporty cars (not to be confused with sports cars, although those are cool, too).
