Hi! I'm Lauren Nixon, a PhD researcher at the University of Sheffield specialising in eighteenth century Gothic literature.

Academic Interests

My research focuses on British Gothic novels between 1764 and 1826, exploring the Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars and analysing the way in which the figure of soldier in the Gothic and presentations of masculinity. I co-run Sheffield Gothic [1], and the Reimagining the Gothic Project [2].
