Jean-Claude DETRE

Born in Belgium on the french side from the country, he studied and graduated with an M.B.A degree as well as one in Physiology and Deontology, also was certified in Paris with a degree in Electronic. During his time studying, he was very involved in ice figure skating. At age 13, he became for the first time Belgium National champion in Figure Pair Skating in Intermediate level. By age 15, he became for the second time National Champion in Figure Pair Skating Level this time at the Junior level and also National Champion in Single Figure Skating at the Junior level. In 1973, he accomplished with his pair partner the highest ranking in pair skating becoming the National Senior Level Figure Skating Pair Champion, regaining the title over from the previous pair holder since the year 1945. At this date he is still holding his title, no other pair team came in the play to challenge him. During those skating years, he was deeply involved with Holiday on Ice and exposed to a lot of show productions. He also achieved a few selections for the World and Olympics, had the great honor to represent Belgium Internationally and the ultimate one to skate for the King and Queen of Belgium.

In 1977, he was time to move on and after his last selection he turned pro, his options were a nice contract with Holiday On Ice or go as coach in the Olympic training center of Bruges. So he moved to the Flemish side of the country, were he place numerous skaters at the Belgium, French, Dutch nationals, European, World and Olympics. He also created a production company that toured with his skaters and was featured on TV. He became in charge of the Show production on ice for the Boudewijn team Park as well as the dolphin and Sea lions shows. He was again deeply involved with Holiday on Ice during the period of 1992 to 1996 and later on with Blackpool on Ice. He was still representing Belgium as pair coach at the International Skating Union (ISU), in Davos Switzerland.

In 1997, he moved to Florida USA while helping with the construction of the Kissimmee ice rink, he created the first Ice School of Performance in the US. The first production was with Scott Hamilton and Peter Barna. After a few years, he became also the skating director, and the general Manager at the same rink. He was named the head coach of the New Dimension High School that was created to integrate skating and studies in one location. Later on he was approached by the Silver Spurs Arena to be the Skating director and Ice technician for the installation of a new sheet of ice and running the Professional hockey team inside this 8000 seat arena. In 1999, he became the Skating District Director for the Ice Skating Institute (ISI). He placed skater at the US national and ISU competitions. Finally in 2002, he was recognized by the Professional Skating Association (PSA) as Ranked level 7 out of 9 as Worlds and Olympic Coach. In 2004 he created a Coaching Staffing and arena managing company.

In 2008, he created a software hardware integration company called "TOUCHRATE, LLC", he dedicated all his effort to see this company reach the maximum potential, he left in 2020 to new adventures. During this time he did create numerous prototyping and production items that are in use with clients like, Walmart, Ride Aids, Purina, Royan-Canin, Advent Heath, Sams, Auto Zone, Oki Printers... Created two patents and numerous amazing creation.
