Hi, I'm JMcAfreak. I'm terrible at introductions.

I have taken an interest in the Prohibition era in the United States. I see it as a smaller-scale model of what the U.S. is like today with bans on drugs. Gangs had control over big cities in the U.S., such as Chicago and New York, because of it. If you look at Chicago now, it's a similar thing with the drug lords, except the power has shifted from being over city and state officials, to being primarily over the poor and impoverished. If you think of it, though, the cartels do have control over our law enforcement in that so many of our law enforcement resources are spent on drugs alone. While I understand how much certain drugs mess with peoples' lives, I do believe that the illegality isn't what stops people from doing them, though. It didn't stop people from drinking, and it didn't stop people from using marijuana. That's just my take though.

I'm a regular attendee of Salt Lake Comic Con. I dress as Al Capone, hence my interest in the Prohibition era.

I'm a perfectionist, so I may spend too much time editing a single article. Most of my edits are probably rearranging things, correcting grammar, etc. I don't really do much to complete articles; I just make them readable. That could change in the future, but I doubt it (I don't have the time).

There used to be one primary area of interest listed on this page, and that was Computers and Technology. Well, things have changed significantly. My interests have expanded. You might consider this my list of confessions as well.
