Outapi Special Technical and Vocational School
editOutapi Special Technical and vocational School is a parastatal institution that accomadates learners with special needs to succeed and grip productive job and become accountable citizens. It is situated in far North,Outapi, Omusati Region , Namibia. It was established at a maximum cost of N$24 million in help of the Ministry of education and the goverment. The institution was officially opened on the 14 of January 2008.The principal of the institution is Frans Kandjulu. At the starting of the school only 45 learners registered in grades 6-7, and with help of 2 teachers, 4 support staff members, a secretary, one porter and a school principal. Currently Outapi Special Technical and Vocational School do accomodate about 168 learners from grades 7-10, and with the help of 17 teachers.Learners at Outapi Special Technical and Vocational School usualy conduct a formal vocational training for atleast a minimum of 2 years at the end of completing thier academic which is grade 10. At the moment the special school do offer 3 ( three) courses which are - woodwork, hospitality and office practice [1].
Donations
editThe Outapi Special Technical and Vocational School was suppose to be renamed after the Ministry of Finace: Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila and this event was delayed for further research by the Ministry of Education . The school receive financial support of N$ 1000 from {three} 3 Namibian Businessman Ben Hauwanga of the BH Companies, David Sheehama of Kambwa Trading cc, Erastus Shapumba of Chicco Building Supplies and Sebby Kankondi of the Bidvest of Namibia give the amount of N$ 30 000 on the date of the official opening . [2].The school is materialized with computer equipment and printer that were donated by the members of the Parliament Committee responsible for ICT for stimulating quality education [3].

editOutapi Special Technical and Vocational School is facing a lot of challenges as it is still inneed of extra funds to tackle its challenges, this include, short of tools, workshops, materials and exellent prescribed trade textbooks [4]
