Shawn Paul Thompson was born in Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York to Alfred John Thompson and Sharon Louise Frielgh Thompson. He was preceded by a brother named Christopher Johnathan Thompson by four years. The four of them lived in a homestead on a former farm on River Road in Latham, New York with his grandmother until he was two years of age. Soon after turning two his mother gave birth to his second brother who was named Brian Gregory Thompson. Within weeks of his brothers birth the family moved out of his grandmothers house and into their new home about a mile away on Forts Ferry Road. He grew up there until the age of 18 when he briefly left home to attend SUNY Cobleskill for a semester. He returned to his parents home at the end of the semester and attended Hudson Valley Community College on and off during the dates of 1999 and 2009 when he graduated with a A.S. degree. During these years he experienced many of the common ups and downs in life. Most notably he met a young woman named Yuliya Alexandrovna Peshkova from the city of Ukhta in the Komi Republic, Russia whom he asked to marry him. Upon saying yes to his proposal they were wed on September 8, 1997. Currently he and his wife are living in Albany, New York attending SUNY Universities.
