About Me

edit

My name is YanYan, and I am currently pursuing a Nursing degree at the College of DuPage. I was born in China and moved to the United States in 2009. Being bilingual, with Traditional Chinese as my primary language, has been an enriching aspect of my life, allowing me to connect deeply with my cultural heritage while embracing new experiences in the U.S.

My first house was in the countryside of Chongqing province[1], where a variety of fruits and vegetables grow. My background has led me to have the passion for both cooking and gardening, which I find incredibly fulfilling. allows me to create meals that are not only delicious but also nutritious, ensuring that my family and I receive the best from the ingredients we use. Gardening, on the other hand, is my sanctuary. I particularly enjoy planting vegetables and fruits. Watching my plants grow gives me a profound sense of connection to nature and brings immense joy to my life.

One of my favorite quotes is "子非鱼,焉知鱼之乐" by Zhuangzi. This quote, which translates to "You are not a fish; how do you know the joy of fish?" resonates deeply with me. It emphasizes the importance of not judging others based on our subjective opinions and experiences, a philosophy that I strive to incorporate into my interactions with others, both personally and professionally.
