Charles Clifford Ogle (January 1, 1923 – c. August 12, 1964) was an American businessman and aviator. Charles Ogle was a businessman and developer in Oakland, California at the time of his disappearance. He had worked as a Loftsman for the Tampa Shipbuilding Company in Tampa, Florida before joining the US Navy in 1943 during WWII where he recieved flight training in the CAA-WTS (Civil Aeronatics Administrative War Taining Service). He also served on the USS John D. Ford (DD-228). At the end of the war he worked as a Securites Salesman for the First California Company in Sacramento, California untill 1950 when he joined the United States Marine Corps at the begining of the Korean War. From 1954 to 1964 he was a developer and builder in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Disappearance

At 6pm on August 12th 1964 Charles Ogle took of from Oakland International Airport in his Cessna 210A tail number N9492X. He did not file a flight plan and he did radio the tower on take off. He was never seen or heard from again. It was later learned that he planned on flying to Las Vegas, Nevada.

In 2007 with the disappearance of Steve Fossett and during the subsequent search approximately eight unidentified plane wrecks were discovered. Only one of the unidentified aircraft was partially identified. With the rest there has been no follow up by the civil authorities. The fate of Charles Ogle still remains a mystery.
