These are the functions of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency
CISA protects the cyber infrastructure of the nations government.

As the world has evolved to depend more on computers and the internet, there is a greater concern in maintaining devices and networks secure. Cyber threats have caused many to rethink their idea of security, a nation's security will depend on the effectiveness of cybersecurity.[1] To maintain the integrity of the nation, there is a concern about the infrastructure of the nation and part of this infrastructure, now includes cybersecurity. [2] This is seen through the actions many governments are taking to increase cyber security within their nations. One example of this, is the establishment of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in the United States. The purpose of the CISA is to protect the cyber infrastructure of the nation and increase cybersecurity defense.

Laws have been establish to increase cybersecurity throughout the United States. One of these laws was passed in 2015 by Barack Obama.[2] The Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act ensured that there would be easy access to information regarding cybersecurity threats. The Attorney General, the Secretary of Homeland Security, and the Director of National Intelligence were placed in charge to work together and ensure that any cyber threats would be reported and eventually eliminated.[2] This law also made it easier for the government to share cybersecurity threat information with companies and in this way enhance security measures to these companies.[2] However, the communication between the government and the companies would not affect privacy and civil liberties, this is part of the framework for the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act. [2] This was a very controversial aspect, many critics thought that they would be trading privacy for security.[1]

Internet Privacy is the right people have to their personal data, however this is a major concern because people are constantly sharing on social media and giving access to their information to third parties. The concern of internet privacy becomes greater when people buy online and share their credit card information with different companies and websites. Most people submit their information to buy the items but have no way of tracking where that information goes after the transaction is carried out. Cyber attacks can reach many individuals at once and have a massive impact, some concerns include, the lack of privacy, identity theft, compromise of proprietary information or intellectual property. [1] This is not limited to individuals, this same type of damage happens to large companies like Facebook and Yahoo and even government. [3] The concern of these cyber attacks and cyber threats are pushing society into improving cybersecurity, increasing defenses, and protection against these new threats.
