Mini Bio

edit

My name is Veronica Johnson I've been growing up in Western Washington my whole life. I love reading as well as writing and at my young age have completed unpublished short stories of my own. Currently I am going to college as a young student studying the art of literature. At times I may be a bookworm although I very much so enjoy the outdoors as well. As a hobby of mine I enjoy playing music on my flute, piano, or other instruments, and participating in creative wonders of art.

Article Review

edit

I visited the Anime convention page on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on, up to date information, the rules of conventions, and common events that occur at an anime convention.

Up to Date

edit

Throughout the article previously popular examples of convention history is posted for example, the 1991 record breaking attendance mark of 1,000 at the Anime con in San Jose California. However, currently there are many more attendees as well as expositions to attend. There were numbers of participants noted in the thousands but I believe there should be a more in depth section for the populous ratio to which categorized events, that way a reader will have an up to date understanding of these massive events.

Rules of Conventions

edit

Reading through this article, I have come to see that the conventions of prior time have been slightly described as a whole, yet I did not see any rules applying to said conventions. As a safety concern for the multitude of people attending these events there are certain rules participants must follow in order to even be admitted into such an event. Sales being involved, as of now most convention tickets are sold online which I also did not see on the page.

Common Events

edit

Common events are described throughout the article such as cosplay contests, workshops, and so on. Although, the article should go in depth of popular examples of contests including prizes if any, as well as what to find at such events. Considering the market of the anime and manga industry is ever changing, this article would need to be updated accordingly. Along with the events themselves being described there should also be a brief article describing how to enter such events for any interested readers.

Summary

edit

In conclusion I would personally rate this article as average or okay. Even though the article is lacking depth, the main points of conventions such as where it came from, to some semi recent information, to where it is now is included, providing for a brief intro into the world of conventions. Yet to have a more improved article, it would be beneficial to get trusted up to date information on current conventions, their rules, as well as in depth detail of what to find at different conventions.
