my family known history starts in Pisa and Livorno in the early 17th century. The family at some time moved to Livorno and were of nobility . via Cavalletti and the Villa Cavalletti still stand today and bear the family name. Giovanni Cavalletti was a prominent lawyer of the day and lived in the villa. He is well known to have negotiated peace between the two cities. at some point the family married into Austrian and English nobility as my great great great grandfather, Giacomo Hamilton Cavalletti remained in the Livorno area and lived in Montelupo in a countryside villa where he became a well know litererary of the day. Eventually publishing the novel Dal Detto Al Fatto Nel Socialismo. One of the first known books detailing socialism. Giacometti Cavalletti's son Francesco Cavalletti had 5 children Carlo Alberto, Margarita, Enrico, Umberto and Maria. Carlo Alberto is my grandfather.
