A fresh start edit

Here's a handy hint: no troll edits of my contributions. You have been warned!

Fresh start? Final warning edit

Hello LarkinToad and welcome back to logged in editing. I am so pleased that you have decided to make this step and hope that this really will be a fresh start and that we will all be able to benefit from you working collegiately with others and respecting consensus.

The initial signs however have not been encouraging. The note you have placed at the head of this talk page suggests to me that you are intending to carry on with your old disruptive ways, and your comments at the Philip Larkin talk page do not indicate that you intend either to be civil or to respect consensus.

I would also like raise the incivility and disruption you engaged in whilst logged out yesterday. Of particular concern are your comments at Talk:Philip Larkin[1] and User talk:Richard Harvey[2] where it appears that you logged out in order to attack and threaten another editor. I am not prepared to open a discussion here as to whether you logged out deliberately or not as that would be to lose sight of the fact is that you made those edits and that they are unacceptable.

Your future on Wikipedia is entirely in your own hands. I do believe that you have a lot to offer in certain areas however if you are incapable of contributing without causing disruption and making personal attacks then we will just have to do without you.

You should consider this your final warning. You have been blocked before and I will have absolutely no hesitation in blocking you again, quite possibly for an indefinite period. Please ensure that your fresh start has some meaning.

Blocked indefinitely edit

Since I left the above message you have made it perfectly clear that you have no intention of amending your behaviour[3] so I have blocked your account for an indefinite period. If you wish to appeal this block you may add {{unblock | reason=your reason here ~~~~}} to this talk page. Before doing this you should read the guide to appealing blocks.

May I also direct you to the policy on block evasion and remind you again that using another named account or an IP address to edit from whilst your main account is blocked is expressly disallowed. Nancy talk 10:20, 11 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference edit

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:38, 15 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
