Civil marriage is a civil right.

I'm a trans woman for Obama.

"Religions are like bras: Done wrong they bind and chafe you. Correctly fitted they support you perfectly, and I have several." - A wise friend of mine

Gamer, fighter, lesbian, and formerly Iceberg3k.

Transsexuality is not a condition of the mind, it is a condition where the body does not match the mind. The only effective treatment of it is to alter the body to match the mind. People have tried for over a century to alter the mind to match the body, without significant result. I think that therapy is a useful adjunct to medical transition, but that the current WPATH Standards of Care still give far too much power and authority to the professionals rather than allowing a trans person the right to control her/his own body; and do not empower trans women to the same extent over their transitions that they do trans men.

Yes, I identify as both lesbian AND bisexual. Deal. ;)

I think that sex reassignment surgery should be available "on demand" and fully covered by health insurance without significant penalties vs. any other surgery normally used by women to increase their comfort with their bodies.

I am a huge fan of Julia Serano. Her book Whipping Girl is a must read for anyone, cissexual or transsexual who wishes to be a trans-feminist.

Fan of the Late Forrest J. Ackerman. Love ya, Uncle Forry.

I am still a fantasy role-playing gamer. I play Dungeons & Dragons - Classic D&D (1981 Mentzer edition) and 4th Edition; World of Darkness (particularly Changeling: The Lost), Mekton Zeta, Swashbucklers of the 7 Skies, Ninja Burger, Don't Rest Your Head and many many other games. And learning new games is never a bad idea.
