Innovation Middle School (iMiddle) is a middle school in San Diego, California, United States, part of the San Diego City Schools.[2] iMiddle is home to 529 students enrolled in 7th and 8th grade, 68% of whom qualify for the National School Lunch Program. The school has corporate partnerships with companies such as Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, and Time Warner Cable.[2]

Academics edit

iMiddle offers courses in robotics, video production, and pre-engineering courses. As a part of the Federal "Learning on the Go" grant, each student is provided with a take-home laptop computer or Ipad. The school offers an after-school robotics program called PrimeTime. The average class size is 26 and the student-to-teacher ratio is 21 to 1.[3]

Activities edit

After-school athletic programs for soccer and competitive football are offered through the Extended Learning Department, PrimeTime program. Students can participate in the student leadership group called Associated Student Body (ASB) or a Yearbook Club where the students help create the school's annual yearbook. The school has electives that the students get to choose from or are assigned according to student need. The elective choices include Exploring Computers/Video Production, Study Skills, Intro to Tech Support Services (ITTS), Gateway to Technology (GTT), and Spanish 1-4.
