Zaman Ali Ibrahim was murdered in a dangerous suburban neighborhood in Karachi, Lyari. Ibrahim was riding his motorcycle down the street April 2, 2011, and he was shot in the head by two other motocyclists, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.[1]

He was a crime reporter, according to Reporters Without Borders [2]

Police told reporters investigating the shooting that they believe he killed over an internal party dispute, according to CPJ. He had just attended an event with late Benhazir Bhutto supporters.[2] It is suspected that the Peoples' Aman Committee, which is associated with Pakistan opposition party Muttahida Qaumi Movement, which has been connected with a number of violent actions and murders.[1] The motive behind the killing is unclear but it is thought to be work related.

I searched “(Zaman and extra news) and Pakistan” as well as “(Zaman and Lyari)” on Lexis-Nexis database and found a few smaller mentions. At various times he was reported to be Zaman Ali, Zaman Ibrahim, and Zaman Khan, as well as Muhammed Zaman, but all have similarities. He was killed by the MQM.
