Aldar-Kose(KAZ. Aldar Kose) is a fictional folklore character of Kazakh fairy tales, the hero of short humorous and satirical miniatures and anecdotes.

There are many popular tales and anecdotes about Aldar-Kose. The son of a poor man, good resourceful and intelligent

deceives and punishes greedy rich men, idlers, fools and even devils. Associated with the Kazakh Robin hood, but his weapon is not a bow and arrow, and the mind and the word. It also appears in the folklore of Turkmens, Uzbeks and Tatars.

Translated into Russian, the nickname Aldar-Kose means "Beardless deceiver": "Aldar" — deceiver, cheat, witty, "Kose" — beardless.
