Bulldog Park is a baseball venue in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It is home to the Butler Bulldogs baseball team of the NCAA Division I Horizon League. The venue has a capacity of 500 spectators.[1][2]
History
editIn the 1990s, the venue was converted from a multi-purpose baseball field and football practice facility to a baseball-only venue. Additions made during the conversion included a press box, bleacher seating, dugouts, and a permanent outfield fence.[1]
Following the 2008 season, the infield was resodded and laser-leveled.[3]
Prior to the 2010 season, the playing surface and dugouts were renovated. Also, a 6,000 square foot indoor hitting facility, located down the left field line, was constructed.[4][5]
Prior to the 2012 season, a new backstop was added and the dugouts were again renovated.[1]
Other uses
editIn addition to Butler baseball, the park hosts high school baseball showcases and clinics.[6][7]
