Kimberly Burleigh is an American artist and educator. She is a Professor in Fine Arts in the School of Art in the College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. She resides in Cincinnati with her husband and son.

Early life and education

Burleigh was born in 1955 and raised in Western Pennsylvania. She received a BFA with an emphasis in Printmaking from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in 1977; and an MFA from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN in 1980.

Work and Exhibitions

Since 1980 Burleigh has worked with a variety of mediums, including; printmaking, painting, drawing, collage and computer imaging and animation. Her 2D works and computer animations have been exhibited in galleries, museums, alternative spaces and film festivals throughout the United States and internationally, primarily in parts of Europe.

Her work in the 1980s featured images derived from television and were executed in various paint mediums including watercolor, casein, oil and acrylic. The television images she chose to paint often carried an element of dark humor. Some images were matched with subtitles from other disparate motion picture frames and this was meant to change the reading of
