The town of Menomonie has a prodigious past that contained some of the wealthiest and most influential people in the state. One of those influential people is James Huff Stout who changed people's lives with the discovery of The Manual Training School, now known as the University of Wisconsin Stout or Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University. His effort made a huge impact in the town of Menomonie and is still continuing to change students’ lives through the variety of programs offered through The University of Wisconsin Stout.
