Kessy Juma in his early life

Kessy Juma was born on May 5th, 1984 into a poor family of Mr. Juma Mrisho and Mrs. Mwanahamisi Mohammed in Mkange village located in Bagamoyo District of the Coastal region. He was raised by his mom from infancy to the age of around six years. He was then transfered to his sister who lived in a nearby village called Saadani (the founding village of the Saadani National Park). He insistently requested the transfer.

Kessy shared a poor living with the family of Alhaj Sheikh. Maftaha Ismaily raising goats and growing rice walking barefooted to and from the farmland in Marumbi, a nearby farm area. He enjoyed fishing with his in-law from the very early age of 7 years.

Education and career achievements of Kessy Juma

Kessy Juma joined Saadani primary school in 1994 and graduated in 2000. The school is located at Saadani village. He was selected to join Kibaha secondary school located at Kibaha in the Coastal region for secondary education.

He graduated his secondary education in 2004 and was selected to join Shinyanga high school for advanced secondary education where he graduated in 2006.

Kessy joined University of Dar es Salaam in 2007 to pursue a Degree of Commerce in Accounts (B.Com, Accounts) where he graduated in 2010.

Kessy worked with TANAPA, Ras Nungwi, Happy Sausages and several other companies from 2011 to 2018 in the areas of accounts and finance. He reached the highest level of Finance & Admin manager in this career.

Kessy Juma is married to Nadya Kessy. He is a father to a son (Nasri Kessy) and a daughter (Nasra Kessy).

Kessy Juma started blogging as early as 2009 at the University of Dar es Salaam while pursuing his Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree. His first blog was Tax Laws in Tanzania. He used the blog to highlight tax position of various financial transactions in accordance with the tax statutes. He had a successful monthly Question and Answer publication for at least a year or two from late 2011. His first publication can be retrieved on scribd.

He later started two other blogs (www.exhale-tz.com) and www.miamia.co.tz each focusing on a different niche. The former was started as a CPA elearning platfrom while the later focused on sharing entrepreneurship ideas and how-tos.

Kessy manages miamia’s facebook page (fb.com/miamiaswahili) that has over 40,000 followers. His content in this page focus on nurturing skills and fostering prosperity.

Kessy registered MIAMIA TRADING COMPANY in 2015 as a trading business that focus on buying and selling commodities and electronics. Read more about MIAMIA TRADING COMPANY here.
