Ken Trethewey[1] (b1950) is a retired marine engineer with professional experience in materials and corrosion. On the latter subject, he has written a standard textbook, Corrosion for Science and Engineering. He has a deep knowledge of Pharology[2] (the science and study of lighthouses) obtained over fifty years. He has authored numerous books on lighthouses, and a detailed history on the Knott family of lighthouse keepers.[3] As a practising musician, Ken has also written books about jazz and jazz musicians[4].
