I am a physicist, graduate of University College London (1967), and Masters in Solid State Physics at Brighton Polytechnic (now part of University of Sussex) in 1969 during which time I performed project work on GaAlP electroluminescence under Cyril Hilsum. Subsequently continued commercial research project work on gallium arsenide epitaxy at BDH Chemicals (now Merck KGaA).

Worked on production and supply of scintillation crystals, particularly caesium iodide and was on a team manufacturing 6 tonnes of shaped crystal for CLEO (particle detector) at Cornell University and also for CERN

Currently working in optics and specialising in infra-red and ultra-violet materials for Crystran Ltd in the UK

I am a keen cyclist and a Life Vice President of the Wessex Cyclists' Touring Club Wessex CTC and am interested in tabulating the incidence of the CTC badge placed on buildings in the UK in the late 19th century. Winged Wheels
