John W. Springman III, Williamsport, PA Lycoming County. I am a KB3AWQ in the Amateur "ham" Radio world. I can usually be found on the W3AHS Repeater 147.300 PL 151.4 that I brought on the air on December 2, 2001 here in Williamsport located on the roof of the Williamsport Area High School and is connected to Echolink 24/7 from my home under W3AHS-R or Node # 277377. I am a (GMRS) General Mobile Radio Service Licensed Operator and in April 2012 I have put on the 462.675 GMRS repeater here in Williamsport. The PL tone PL 141.3 on transmit and receive.

Fire Police Service: I joined the Hepburn Twp. Vol Fire Co in March 1996 as a junior member and July 1997 when I turned 18 year old I became a regular member and a Fire Police Officer. I was nominated in the fall of 1998 for Fire Police Captain and lost by 3 votes. The following year I won by 9 votes. From January 2000 to November 2009 (elected each year) I served as the Fire Police Captain (15). I decided not to run after.

Even though never was active I had joined at a non resident member of Old Lycoming Twp VFC (Hepburn and Old Lycoming worked on the same calls mostly (around the year 2000)

I was a member of Montgomery Boro VFC also for 2 years around the same time frame while I frequented their area.

In 1995 I joined the Williamsport Emergency Management Agency (Civil Defense) and was there until 1997 and served several positions Liaison, Quartermaster and Communications Officer. We assisted the city of Williamsport with events and emergency calls for traffic and crowd control mostly.

June 1993, I received my Novice Amateur Radio Class Callsign KB3AWQ and in August 1993 I earned my Technician Class license. Originally I had the KB3AWQ repeater on 147.300 but in May 2004 I put in for the vanity club callsign for W3AHS to match its location Williamsport 3 Area High School.

April 2012, I put on the air 2 UHF repeaters one on 462.675 PL 141.3 which is a GMRS repeater and also an Amateur Radio Repeater on 444.900 PL 173.8. They both are starting out low profile at my house but the plans are to have them on Bald Eagle mountain Skyline Drive when a site is found.

1993, I have been a member of the Lycoming County Emergency Managent Agency through the (DCS) Disaster Communications Service and (RACES) Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service, (ARES) Amateur Radio Emergency Service and SKYWARN spotter which is a program sponsored by the National Weather Service that reports severe weather.

Since 2000, Joined as an Associate Member of the Williamsport Lodge #29 Fraternal Order of Police.
