Edvantage group uses a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model and service-orientated architecture (SOA). Edvantage group’s products and services include Learning Gateway (Learning Management System), CourseBuilder, authoring tool, consulting and professional services, development of customized multimedia content and a library of over 15,000 courses available through the Internet.

History

Edvantage group was founded in 1999. Edvantage group filled the position of an aggregator, partnering with leading e-learning content producers. In 2000, Edvantage group released the first version of the Learning Gateway, making content and functionality available on-demand through the Internet. This is known today as being a Software-as-a-Service. From 2002-2008 Edvantage group acquired five companies including Skillsoft Scandinavia, Boxer Technologies, Zenaria, Open Training, and Future Media. Today, Edvantage group services over 500 organizations by providing integrated technologies, content and services. The company provides learning programms to over one half million people around the world in over 20 languages.

Edvantage group has received numerous awards. In 2010, the company was awarded Silver for ‘E-learning Development Company of the Year’ at the UK E-learning Awards for having achieved exceptional results within customers’ organisations as a direct result of the bespoke e-learning content that it has developed.[2]

Edvantage group was a finalist at the World of Learning Awards 2008 [3] in the category of ‘Rapid E-learning Solution of the Year’ alongside client Ashurst and received a Commendation at the prestigious E-learning Awards in the ‘Most Innovative Application in Learning Technology’ category with long standing client, Bupa.

In 2009, Edvantage group was awarded Gold and Silver from the Media Communications Association in Denmark in the category Multi-media formation/Education.[4]In 2007 and 2008 Edvantage group earned Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 ranking as one of the fastest growing companies in EMEA. [5][6]
