Greetings and welcome to my homepage!

First of all, let me introduce myself. I have lived for about four years in Malaysia and currently living in Doha, Qatar. I have been roaming around Wikipedia looking for an article that requires editing since September 2009.

In my free time, I will go to Wikipedia to read any random article and modify it where necessary. Most of the time I will be at Simple English Wikipedia to expand stub or sub-stub articles and adding redirects.

My interest in Wikipedia began on August 2008 where I gradually depended on it to make some of my projects and researches. However it was not until a couple of months ago where I started to feel the need of helping Wikipedia in expanding its articles.

Pelléas et Mélisande
Pelléas et Mélisande is an opera in five acts with music by the French composer Claude Debussy. The French-language libretto was adapted from Maurice Maeterlinck's symbolist play Pelléas and Mélisande. The plot concerns a love triangle between Prince Golaud, Mélisande (a mysterious young woman he had found lost in a forest), and Golaud's younger half-brother Pelléas. The only opera Debussy ever completed, Pelléas et Mélisande premiered on 30 April 1902 at the Salle Favart in Paris, performed by the Opéra-Comique, with Jean Périer as Pelléas and Mary Garden as Mélisande. The premiere was conducted by André Messager, who was instrumental in getting the Opéra-Comique to stage the work. Redirects

A redirect is a page that has the sole purpose to automatically redirect readers to a differently named page; to take the reader where they really wanted to go. Redirects allow a topic to have more than one title. Redirects are used for synonyms, abbreviations (initialisms), acronyms, accented terms (diacritics), misspellings, typos, nicknames (pseudonyms), scientific names, etc.

To create a redirect for the term "Oof":

  1. Type Oof in the search box, press ↵ Enter
  2. Click on the redlink for Oof that it presents
  3. In the edit window that appears, type #REDIRECT [[Foo]] on the first line to make it lead to the article Foo
  4. Redirects should be organized in to categories too. Each redirect can have up to seven redirect categories. Categories go on the third line of the redirect. (Note: Plant has a subcategory within the category of scientific name; enter plant after a pipe).

Here are two examples of a redirect category using a category template:

  • {{R from birth name}}
  • {{R from scientific name|plant}}

Preview your new redirect before saving it. Make sure:

  1. There is a big right-facing arrow to the left of the bolded name of your target page name.
  2. That your target page is bolded in blue (if it is red, go back and double check your target name in the edit window).
  3. That your redirect category has rendered properly and that the boilerplate it presents makes sense.
