The local word for public toilet is salerni.[1]

In August 2021, there were 56 public toilets per 100,000 people, making the country the one with the most per resident in the world.[2][3] The country decided to invest in public toilet creation to support the massive growth in the tourist industry.[4]

The most common type of toilet is a sit toilet, and toilet paper is often provided.[1] The typical charge to use a public toilet is Kr200.  People can pay by card.[1]
